Growing in Step
A stone’s throw away from Allkin’s Active Ageing Centre is the park, where a group of orange-clad seniors meet up to take a walk every week – which spun-off from “Walk2Remember”, a collective movement that aims to champion a dementia-friendly society.
While they can go to the park on their own, walking together with friends – familiar and new, young and old – makes for a much more fun and meaningful time. Today, the seniors are joined by an amusing young man who has been coming along for the past few walks. Initially tasked to look out for the seniors, the former client of Allkin’s Restorative Service has now become a cheeky grandson in their eyes, that they can’t help but coddle each time they see him!
